Control
Why
It seems like we are surrounded by technology and its effects. We’re dependent, we’re addicted, we don’t know how to live any other way.
We’ve forgotten that we are still in control.
How
When my laptop finally declined repair, I broke it open so I could photograph its innards - circuit boards - for this scene.
If you look just to “camera right” of our character’s face, you will see a square card with what looks like a ghostly figure pointing at something. Turns out that’s an ITE Super I/O chip. It looks like a figure because most of the label has worn away, and only part of the “i” and “T” remain. The Super I/O chip controls many functions, including power.
Computer geeks will recognize that this Super I/O chip isn’t in it’s true location. I moved it to be nearer our character - power pointing to power.
The Doll clothes in this photograph were hand crocheted by my maternal grandmother, Nellie Freeman.
